ASiT - eoSurgical launches medical education bursary

eoSurgical is driven by patient safety - improving surgical skills in risk-free environments that translates into safer surgery for our patients. Our range of simulation tools are used heavily by surgeons in training. The UK’s Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT) is an independent body that works to promote the highest standards in surgical training. As such, eoSurgical and ASiT are driven by exactly the same motivations.

We have now taken the exciting step of joining forces with ASiT in the context of a new medical education bursary that will be open to applications from any of ASiT’s ~3,500 members.

With the growing popularity of postgraduate degrees in medical education, we are excited to announce a £1000 bursary for an ASiT member undertaking an MSc in the field of medical/surgical education (including distance learning and simulation-themed courses). Full details are here.

eoSurgical is about evidence-based surgical skills training. There is a robust and growing evidence-base for eoSim and SurgTrac, for both basic and advanced skills training. This evidence comes from multiple surgical specialties and multiple countries, with at least 28 peer-reviewed papers published and more under review.

We are therefore determined to support the next generation of surgical educators; trainees who, like us, are motivated by the impact that improved training can have on the delivery of safer surgery worldwide. Good luck with your applications!
