On 20th June eoSurgical was announced as a winner at round 8 of the Scottish EDGE competition, with an award for the maximum prize of £100,000 to support our mission of making surgery safer worldwide.
This funding will help eoSurgical in two ways. First, it will allow us to invest in more software development so we can continue to improve the functionality of SurgTrac. SurgTrac already offers a unique combination of instrument tracking and real-time natural language objective feedback, but now we’re investing in the development of a mobile application and the use of augmented reality. We welcome feedback from all our users, so if you have a suggestion for a feature you would like to have added, please get in touch with us.
Secondly, the funding will allow us to expand our reach into international markets in Europe, the Middle East and Asia where there is a growing demand for structured laparoscopic skills training. We will be attending surgical meetings in these markets as part of a global launch of SurgTrac. And in addition we plan to run our laparoscopic skills workshops abroad for the first time.
With this award we can continue to fulfil our mission of making surgery safer worldwide.
